Support from the home team

Last night I returned to my high school gymnasium to cheer on my Martinsville Artesians. The neat part was, however, the home crowd was also cheering me on.
I returned home for the first time as Miss Ball State. I was able to share the message of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals with fans as they entered the game. Then, I partnered with the JV and Varsity cheerleaders to host a Miracle Minute, collecting change from the crowd to raise money for CMN Hospitals. The PA announcer shared my message over the speakers, as the cheerleaders and I ran through the stands collecting donations.
In high school, I was a JV and Varsity cheerleader for three years. It felt great to be working beside these girls again, and I cannot thank them enough for their support.
After counting every last penny, we had raised over $200 for CMN Hospitals. What an amazing accomplishment! The Martinsville crowd was incredibly generous. I am extremely thankful for their love and encouragement, and I cannot wait to make them proud this summer at Miss Indiana.

Special thank you to the MHS Cheerleaders, Mr. Kip Staggs and WCBK.
